Crazy Golf in the rain, Fish and Chips

Posted by Paul Blacknell

The weather forecast for today anticipated rain so we set off up the Cape looking for batting cages and crazy golf. The traffic was pretty horrendous and I did wonder just how long it would take to get all the way to Provincetown tomorrow if it was going to be like this. Google wasn’t helping us as all and we turned off and asked some Park Rangers if they knew of any cages, without success.

After getting bored we turned around and headed back towards Chatham and stopped off at Arnold’s for some crazy golf. Built to the size of a shack style seafood restaurant we noticed a huge queue for the dining rooms. This place was clearly well regarded by the locals. The crazy golf was fun and much more elaborate than we’re used to back home.

We lunched at Chatham Fish Pier (known locally as Nickerson’s) where we fell into the trap or each ordering chips and being left with a years supply – it was good and fresh though. We noticed one family dining in the boot of a massive Ford Expedition SUV, but still raining, we took ours back to the house to eat.

That night we ate at Delmar which was aiming at the eclectic American cuisine market and was trying too hard. It was good but not brilliant and didn’t justify the price tag. Harry & I watched the Redsox game back at the house.
