Top of the Hub

Posted by Harry Blacknell

It was the brunch  we had all been hyping up for a while, The Top of the Hub! An apparently massive buffet with pancakes and waffles said Mum and Dad.

So we were all wanting to get there and we were even early but got pushed away until exactly on time. Finally we all got there after a long lift ride which kept faulting. Anxiously we all strode towards our seats, taking photos along the way of all the sights in Boston including Fenway Park.

Then the menu came… No buffet… No pancakes or waffles… A complete change from 17 years ago! I told Dad about the menu whilst he took some photos and he didn’t believe me until he got a glimpse. After a quick discussion we left! A disappointing experience at the Top of the Hub.

And we shortly after our stomachs rumbled louder we ended up at Joe’s, which was also a brunch place. After a short, sharp order with me messing up with about 3 different things, the food came, with hard eggs. Well Dad had kept saying “we are spending money for this meal so just ask them to change it” and I did and I ended up getting two portions of eggs.  This was one of two changes we made as once we had ordered our hot chocolate it arrived only lukewarm and we asked for it to be heated.

Throughout the whole meal me and Joe were disappointed because when we walked in we immediately noticed the Chelsea score on the TV (Chelsea 2 Hull 0) which spoiled the recording we had set on Sky+. This ended up being the final score after we returned home and watched the match.

That was our brunch experience!
